How do I use the minus sign for the home page (index page)?

I don’t want the posts from a certain category showing up on my main blog page where new visitors will arrive… I just want them showing up on another page that will act as a sub-blog… is this possible?

I see where to change the “categories” field so it includes or excludes categories from THAT page (when you are creating a new page), but there isn’t an option for excluding a category from the HOME page itself..

I can’t see an option to do this… is there a piece of code I need to add somewhere?

Love the theme! But when I click over to my blog page, the posts don’t show up. I have to use the archive, categories, or tags to see any. Is there a way I can have all posts show up there?

And also, how do I choose which images show up in the slider on the main page?

Last question. Is there a way to show only certain categories on the portfolio page? I’d like to have completely different categories from my blog.

A great theme! This might be obvious and I’ve overlooked it but I’m trying to get the front page sidebar widget to appear on the left of the page instead of the right. Is there an option for this?

I’m also having a problem with the gallery – I want to use the 4 column gallery and I believe the code is correct. I’ve tried changing the columns to 2 and 6 to test them but it doesn’t matter what I put in the ‘singlepostgrid’ it shows in 3 columns only.

Any thoughts?

Hey I just purchased this theme. I have everything set up okay so far, except for the home page. I’m a little confused on exactly how to set it up.

Right now the home page looks like this

I can’t seem to figure out how to put everything on it. I’m probably just missing something super simple lol but any help would be great.
