I just purchased and installed the theme and am also having problems with the Featured Posts like many others apparently. Could you please explain this thoroughly?
I have tried adding custom fields in the posts with the names “big_preview” or “small_preview” but as soon as I save or update the post the custom fields are gone…
Am I doing it wrong? And why isn’t this explained in the documentation?
Please advise.

@tazizito: You can remove the post preview in the single page. Open single.php and remove this line: “ <?php the_excerpt(); ?> ”..
You can make the menu display pages if you want and not categories.

The fact that the thumbnail is created from the FIRST item uploaded to the post is problematic. It’s not limiting itself to just images, so TimThumb is trying to display a PDF as a thumbnail for one page, and an MP3 on another… It doesn’t seem to differentiate.
How can I get this fixed? The search results and archive pages appear to have lots of “broken images”—but it’s just because timthumb is trying to display a non-image file.
Also, I sometimes select an image that was previously uploaded, not uploaded directly to the post/page. These don’t show for thumbnails. Please help me resolve these issues.

UPDATE —the developer who helped me before updated first_image.php for me and it’s all good now. If you want to get his udpates for a future update, let me know. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has struggled with the way the thumbnails worked.

Nope, I did that before I posted. I hide the actual arrow but its showing a ”>>” after the actual menu item. So say I have an menu item named “theme” it shows as “theme >>”
Also the only code in /layout/js/custom.js is:

@ms_webcasa actually it may be your server’s problem. i had faced the same problem.
What i did was remove the timthumb script. So now i manually add the thumbnails with a Custom field.

now i got the new version (1.7) of reviewit but i can’t still not play videos in slider. the lightbox in review-article is working. but there is no chance to play the youtube videos in the slider. i just put the mediaplay-folder with all files (player.swf, swfobject.js, video.flv,..,...) in my reviewit/includes folder.
i have no idea what the problem is.
since 3 days i try it – no solution.
HELP !
once again, i deleted everything from my ftp, copied 1.7 in folder 1.5 the problem is fixed.
now i just want to know how i can get a navigation bar (play,skip,stop) over the video.

In your live preview, you have the sexy bookmarks only showing for the posts, and not the authors. I can’t seem to get my bookmarks to only appear once on each post, can you take a look? Or perhaps just share what options you have selected to get it the way it is on the live preview.

How can I change the size of the “featured image” on the top of the post and on the slider so I can increase the height. It’s only that it’s quite narrow and isn’t really showing the entire portion of the image that I want.
